Using anything else can damage the threads on the bolt and weights. Moving the 16 g weight to the toe cavity and the two 1 g weights to the middle and heel cavities helps straighten the trajectory when you hook the ball. All through highschool I was never able to hit a driver with any consistency, and eventually I quit trying. Overall I think Taylormade Golf has a good thing going with the R9 driver line. I had two issues that are still bothering me with the last few Taylormade releases.

The lofts in the below chart are when the club head is square. We prefer this kind of adjustability as it seems to have a greater effect on ball flight and in the TaylorMade R9 driver it works well. Or, sometimes away from the cup due to the golfer’s poor read of the green.
